Social Security is the Jewel of the American System. It is the greatest thing ever devised. Despite that there are many haters exist. Some stupidly want to change to an investment vehicle. No but only as an add on specially for low income who can not afford IRA regular or Roth. Making Social Security will have some lose all their investments and at time of retirement they will be penniless.
The American people rejected Bush monkeying with the social security despite he calling it emergency. Actually, the social security has surplus every year except the federal government steal it every year and added it as part of the general revenue.
