The End of The Road For Driver Salim Hamdan Prisoner of Guantanamo

Image
After Salim Hamdan had spent more than five years in Guatanamo Bay, this gentle man he is on his way to his beloved country of Yemen. He was labeled by his captors as a very dangerous terrorist who should be sentenced to life in prison. This proclaimed terrorist 40-year-old was the notorious Osama Bin Laden's driver. He became the first detainee to be convicted in the small, windowless courtroom on a hilltop at the US naval base in Guantanamo. But the verdict and relatively short sentence he was given were seen as a blow to the White House. Now, his transfer to Yemen, where he is to serve the remaining month of his sentence, could portend a way forward for the release of the other 100 Yemenis still being held - the largest national group and one of the biggest headaches for the US administration. But crucially, his departure from Guantanamo signals the beginning of the end for the detention facility.Just last month, the US administration had sought to get Hamdan re-sentenced bec

Hillary Clinton for Secretary of States

Image
President elect Barack Obama for all uindications have selected Hillary Clinton for the Secretary of State position. On ebelieve she is very well quaified and have very wide horizon seeing the world and approaching issues and problems. Barack Obama's election as president has drawn other comparisons with Roosevelt, especially for the economic crisis he inherits. But the example of Hull, a marginal figure despite his having served into the 1940s and having won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945, may point to potential pitfalls for Sen. Hillary Clinton if she takes the top diplomatic post, as seems increasingly likely. http://www.baltimoresun.com/ http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nation/politics/bal-te.clinton23nov23,0,5090356.story

Sarah Palin Links The Defeat of John McCain to George W Bush Policies

Image
Sarah Palin pointedly and rightfully links the defeat of John McCain presidential ticket to George W Bush policies. This illustrates she has more depth in politics and more thorough insight than superficial John McCain. It is clear that John McCain had failed to address how he will follow different policies than George W Bush and he paid the price in sounding defeat. John McCain acted in a superficial way by indulging in playing silly games with Joe the Plumber antics. He was not serious. His monotone "Cut Taxes" did not resonates with the population of voters and he should have realized that. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081111/ap_on_el_pr/palin

My New Poem: Mountain Rose

Image
Rosa di Montagna - Mountain rose I met a rose on may way to the mountain She smiled and said good morning I said where you got all this charm? She danced and said come near I said where you got all this fragrance She told me touch me my dear I said where you got all this beautiful touch! She told me hug me Show me your love Get closer get closer I picked her from her branches She said you killed me stranger I saw the dew on her petal as her tears I sighed what I did? What I did? She told me do not cry The lives of roses are too short I kissed her I hugged her Prayed and said good bye
