The Paltry Admission of Iraqi Refugees

There were only 220 Iraqi refugees to the US in 2005 out of 7000 slot. The United Nations Commission on Refugees expressed their dissatisfaction that the U.S. who is signatory to the Refugee Treaty does not pay their share of accepting her share of responsibility. There are estimated 2 million Iraqis who fled their country and were scattered in many countries in the middle east and in Western Europe. Bush felt a moral obligation using his words to accept some refugees to the US. The figure mentioned is meager 7000 considerably small for a big country like the US with population exceeding three millions. Just to note the tiny small country of Sweden accepted more. In the domestic front the hate radio talk show hosts like Michael Savage, Ray Rantel and Tammy Bruce, the right wingers, the Evangelical bosses, the Anti-Moslem congressmen like the nuclear bomb Tom Tancredo and Peter King are mad as hell and attacking Bush with all venom. After all the US should stand loyal for the Iraqis who helped the US troops in Iraq and risked their lives, not all were safe either many were killed.
