God and Laws of Nature Islam and Christianity
God and the laws of nature is very touchy subjects. First of all for the ones who believes in God believes also that God rules through the laws he had created. Islam and Christianity both believes in a powerful God. The question is would God breaks the laws of nature to perform miracles. In the Bible there are ample references of God breaking the laws of nature to allow miracles to happen. Take Jesus raising the dead, bring the sight of the blind, walk on water, changing water to wine that is miraculously changing the hydrogen and oxygen atoms to carbon instantaneously, calming the turbulent sea by a command, moving the mountain to the middle of the lake by a command, feeding 2000 people with two fish, walking through the walls, raising from heaven, ascending to heaven from the top of hill as he was speaking, ...In Islam there were no miracles because at that time the expectation that people should believe in God with no need of miracles. Against that back ground we see the Moslem hater Robert Spencer writes a book that claims that Islam and Moslems do not believe in laws of nature because God in Koran says that he can fulfills what he wants. Did not the miracles of Jesus was a fulfilment of desires that constantly was presumably God will? Was it what is good for the goose is good for the geese? Why Robert Spencer denounces Islam because it is stipulated that God can do what he wants. Actually in Islam states that when God wants something he creates the conditions that will allow it to happen. Look at the conditions that God had created so the message of prophet Muhammed to succeed. At the time the conditions for Muhammed success withe weakness of both the Roman and Persian empires. The Moslem armies defeated them handly and decisively and in one hundred years an Islamic empire was established. Back to Robert Spencer far fetched assertion that the far advancement of western Europe in science, mathematics, medicine, technology, ... was due to the fact that Moslems do not believe in natural laws. Quite to the Contrary Islam demands for Moslems to seek knowledge from birth to death, prophet Mohamed to seek knowledge even if you need to go to China, in addition Al-Koran encouraged Moslems to ponder and enquire about how the sun and moon moves in their particular paths. It is unfortunate that Moslems were left behind but this is absolutely not because of Islam but quite the contrary.
