Ethnic and Religious Groups And U.S. Foreign Policy
The national minorities, ethnic and groups in the US try to shape and influence the U.S. foreign policies. Some times they do not succeed but others they do.
Presently the Armenians are in Arms to draw the U.S. congress in condemn Turkey for massacring 1.5 millions one hundred years ago. Such condemnation seems reasonable and plausible if one tries to influence the current events but not to dabble of events 100 years ago. Leave that to historians. About the massacre itself some one see it as fabrication with inflated incredible numbers. Look at the figure of 1.5 millions this exceeds the entire Armenian population in that region including Armenia proper. One ignores that million of Turks were killed in this time period.
The Vietnamese in Southern California they are trying to jeopardize American trade relation with Vietnam ignoring the adverse effect of such acts,
The Cubans in southern Florida and their efforts to maintain the trade and normal relations with Cube.
