Child Beggars in Saudi Arabian Cities

A study by a Saudi University found that more than 80,000 child beggars an be found in the streets of holy Mecca and Medina. They come from Bahrain, Oman, the UAE, India and other nationalities but the majority are from the kingdom itself. The number of beggars balloons during the month of holy Ramadan. This is a racket where criminals maim the young children and send them to Saudi Arabia for alleged medical treatments. These criminal elements collect the children money. The children get detained and sent back home to their country of origin.
